Product Description

A multicolored hand-painted Pen Kalamkari saree, Sakhi brings together expressive color and traditional Indian craftsmanship ion pure kora silk fabric that feels joyful, feminine and distinctly its own.

Each saree is individually hand-painted by Kalamkari artisans using the traditional Pen Kalamkari technique. The artwork is further detailed with hand-embroidered mirrors and sequins, catching the light subtly as the saree moves. The pallu is finished with a handcrafted pitta-work border, adding texture and a quiet metallic accent to the painted composition.

Designed as wearable art rather than occasion wear alone, Sakhi can move between intimate celebrations, festive gatherings and evenings where you simply want to wear something that feels unmistakably special.

The Craft

Pen Kalamkari is a traditional Indian textile art in which motifs are drawn and painted by hand. Because Sakhi is created by hand, slight variations in line, color and placement are natural. We consider these differences part of the character of the piece—no two sarees will be completely identical.
